What is ferro aluminum?

Ferro aluminum is an alloy that is made up of iron and aluminum. It is commonly used as a deoxidizing agent in the steel making process, as well as a alloying agent in the production of cast iron and other metal alloys. Ferro aluminum typically contains between 30-70% aluminum and is produced by smelting a mixture of iron and aluminum, usually with the addition of various other metals and a reducing agent such as carbon. The resulting alloy has high strength and excellent heat resistance, making it ideal for use in a variety of applications including aerospace, transportation, and construction. Ferro aluminum is also used as a fuel additive in the production of solid rocket propellant.
